Medicine Of Compassion

In the fall of 2003, Cielo Pictures Inc. followed a remarkable doctor into rural Haiti. Every
year, Dr. Paul Davis treks 6 hours out of Port Au Prince to a tiny hillside village by the
name of Bonne Fin. There, he provides free medical care for hundreds of Haitians with little
access to medicine or a skilled doctor. "When I graduated from medical school I committed
myself to helping poor people in the world" he told me along the way. That is exactly what he
does for several weeks out of the year, leaving behind his medical practice and acreage home
    in Southern Alberta.

We documented his work with children in a makeshift clinic in a church on the top of a
mountain. Dr. Davis also makes regular trips to help destitute seniors in the city of Les
Cayes. On several of his expeditions, Dr. Davis carries "Physician Travel Packs" from
Health Partners International of Canada. It's an organisation that collects donated
medicines and packages them for volunteer physicians to take into the developing world. Dr.
Davis has dedicated his life to helping people... not only in Haiti.. but in many other
    countries as well.

"Medicine Of Compassion "was broadcast on CTV Calgary twice in 2004.

"Lifeline Malawi"

In 1998, a Calgary Doctor by the name of Chris Brooks decided it was time to “follow his heart” and use his medical
skills to help people in the developing world.  He sold his home and his Calgary medical practice and took his family to
the grasslands of Malawi, where there was virtually no medical assistance available.

With very little money and very little help he began practicing medicine. 40 thousand people lived in the area.  Most
had never seen a doctor.  Now, 8 years later, Doctor Brooks and his wife, along with supporters from Canada, the
United States and Europe, have built 2 medical clinics, operating full time… seeing patients sick with malaria, AIDS,
tuberculosis and many other things.  They have also created mobile outreach clinic's to take assist families living in
even more remote parts of Malawi.

From “the power of one” has grown an amazing organization serving tens of thousands of the worlds poorest.

"LifeLine Malawi" tells the story of this one man's conviction and passion and the people that have joined him    in
making his dream a true success story in the developing world..

"LifeLine Malawi" will be broadcast on CTV Alberta on December 24th, 2007 at 5:00 PM and again on
January 1st at 5:30 PM
